The Two Playable Protagonists
Lucia Caminos
Lucia is the first female playable protagonist in a mainline GTA game. Born in Liberty City, she learned to fight from her father at an early age. Her attempts to protect her family landed her in Leonida Penitentiary, and she escaped only by sheer luck. Fresh out of prison, Lucia is the strategic, level-headed half of the duo. Rockstar describes her as someone who wants “the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City” and is now “prepared to take matters into her own hands.” Manni L. Perez is the most widely rumoured voice actress, though Rockstar has not confirmed any casting.
Jason Duval
Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army failed to shake off his troubled past, he ended up in the Leonida Keys working for local drug runners. He lives rent-free in one of Brian Heder’s properties in exchange for helping with local shakedowns. Meeting Lucia could be “the best or worst thing to ever happen to him,” according to Rockstar’s official bio. Dylan Rourke is the leading fan-cast candidate for Jason’s voice. Troy Baker publicly confirmed he is not involved.

With the second trailer and updated Newswire, Rockstar introduced seven named supporting characters with full bios and high-resolution artwork.
Cal Hampton
Jason’s paranoid, beer-loving best friend and a fellow associate of Brian Heder. Cal prefers staying at home, snooping on Coast Guard communications with “a few beers and some private browser tabs open.” Rockstar places him “at the low tide of America and happy there.” His casual conspiracy theorist persona provides both comic relief and a tech-savvy intel angle. Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live) is the leading voice rumour.
Boobie Ike
A Vice City legend who turned street hustle into a legitimate empire spanning real estate, the Jack of Hearts strip club, and Only Raw Records, a label he co-founded with Dre’Quan Priest. Boobie appears on the official cover art alongside Jason, Lucia, and Raul, signalling a major story role. He is “all smiles until it’s time to talk business,” a detail Rockstar has emphasised repeatedly.
Dre’Quan Priest
Dre’Quan was “always more of a hustler than a gangster.” Even while dealing on the streets, his goal was breaking into the music industry. Now managing Only Raw Records with Boobie Ike, he signed the rap duo Real Dimez and is chasing a hit that could take him beyond the strip-club booking circuit.
Real Dimez: Bae-Luxe and Roxy
Friends since high school, Bae-Luxe and Roxy form Vice City’s rising rap duo. They turned their experience shaking down local dealers into “cold, hard cash via spicy rap tracks and a relentless social media presence.” An early hit single with local rapper DWNPLY put them on the map five years before the game’s events. Now signed to Only Raw Records, they are hoping lightning strikes twice.
Raul Bautista
Described by Rockstar as combining “confidence, charm, and cunning,” Raul is a seasoned bank robber who is always hunting for talent willing to take big risks. His recklessness raises the stakes with every score, and “sooner or later, his crew will have to double down or pull their chips from the table.” He is expected to serve as a mentor figure who draws Jason and Lucia into major heist missions.
Brian Heder
A classic drug runner from “the golden age of smuggling in the Keys.” Brian still moves product through his boatyard with his third wife, Lori. He has been around long enough to delegate the dangerous work to others while letting Jason live rent-free in exchange for shakedown help and the occasional visit for “Lori’s sangria.” Stephen Root (Barry, King of the Hill) is the strongest voice-actor rumour attached to Brian, with fan waveform analysis putting the match at extremely high confidence.
Other Named Characters from Trailers and Leaks
Stefanie
A correctional social worker at the Leonida Department of Corrections. Stefanie holds a unique distinction: she is the first voice heard in GTA 6 marketing, appearing at the very start of Trailer 1 as she counsels Lucia during her incarceration. Her surname begins with “G.” She may appear in Lucia’s early prison-arc missions.
Lori Heder
Brian’s third wife and active partner in his smuggling operation. Trailer footage shows Lori handling assault rifles and pistols with comfort. She is no background character; the GTA Fandom wiki classifies her as a “main character” tier figure.
Phil
Spotted in an Ammu-Nation TV commercial during Trailer 2, Phil appears to be a weapons dealer and possible reimagining of Phil Cassidy from the GTA 3D Universe. Notably, this version has both arms intact and appears substantially younger, leading fans to debate whether he is the same Phil or a new character running a store named after the original.
DWNPLY
A local Vice City rapper who collaborated with Real Dimez on their viral hit single five years before the game begins. He represents Vice City’s hip-hop ecosystem and may appear in music-industry side missions.
Wyman
A mechanic and mission-giver who surfaced in the September 2022 development leak. According to the GTA Fandom wiki, Wyman sends one of the protagonists to obtain specific vehicles, including a Mamba GT and a Riata Classic. He has not yet appeared in official trailers but is classified as a “main character” in leaked game data.
Ellis
Discovered in June 2026 when voice actor Brett Gipson’s Actors Access profile listed him as a “supporting character” in GTA 6. Nothing is known about Ellis’s allegiance or story role, but the leak suggests he interacts with Jason and Lucia’s criminal network.
Rudi
A named minor character tagged as “deceased” in 2022-leak materials. This means Rudi likely appears posthumously, through flashbacks or story references, rather than as a living NPC.

Both GTA 6 trailers are packed with unnamed but visually distinct characters. The fan community has assigned working names to the most prominent ones: Crotch Grab Guy, Dad Bod Guy, Gold Chain Guy, Hammer Lady, High Rollerz Mag Guy, Leonida Joker, Selfie Guy, Thrillbilly Mud Girl, a Police Detective, a Nightclub DJ, and Shanese (a possible close friend of Lucia).
