Within 24 hours of GTA 6 pre-orders going live, IGN affiliate data suggested PS5 was outselling Xbox by up to 8 to 1. Microsoft fired back with a rare public statement. Here is what the numbers actually mean.

Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026 and immediately triggered one of the biggest console-war flashpoints in years. According to IGN’s commerce affiliate tracking data, the PS5 version of GTA 6 is outselling the Xbox Series X/S version by as much as 8 to 1. Microsoft has publicly disputed this figure, calling it unrepresentative of actual pre-order numbers and confirming that Xbox is seeing “record orders.” The game launches on 19 November 2026 at $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition.

Where Does the 8-to-1 Ratio Come From?

The viral figure originated from IGN Finds, IGN’s deal-tracking and commerce affiliate platform. On 26 June, IGN posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Through IGN Finds’ commerce affiliate linking program, the data is showing that PlayStation is outperforming Xbox by a rate of 8-to-1.” Vice published a separate report citing a 6-to-1 ratio around the same period, based on similar affiliate link tracking.

This data represents clicks on affiliate links hosted on IGN’s website. When a reader clicks a pre-order link, IGN can see which platform version they selected. It does not measure completed purchases, direct digital storefront sales on PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, or sales through physical retailers. It reflects the behaviour of one publication’s audience, not the entire global market.

How Did Microsoft Respond?

In a statement to Windows Central, an Xbox spokesperson directly addressed the circulating claims: “This doesn’t represent pre-order data. We’ve had record orders. People should wait for real data and not clicks on affiliate links.” The response was notable because Microsoft rarely engages with platform sales comparisons publicly. The fact that Xbox felt compelled to issue a statement suggests the narrative had reached a scale that concerned the company.

Microsoft did not release its own platform-level pre-order figures. The “record orders” claim confirms strong demand on Xbox but says nothing about the actual ratio compared to PS5.

Is PS5 Actually Outselling Xbox on GTA 6?

Almost certainly yes, though the exact margin is unknown. The structural factors heavily favour PlayStation:

Install base gap: Sony reported 93.7 million PS5 units sold as of 31 March 2026. Industry estimates place Xbox Series X/S lifetime sales at approximately 34.7 million. That is roughly a 2.7-to-1 ratio in hardware.

Sony’s marketing deal: Through a partnership with Rockstar Games confirmed on the PlayStation Blog, Sony secured the “Plays Best on PS5” branding. All official trailers and promotional materials feature PlayStation branding exclusively. The PS5 listing went live on the PlayStation Store months before Xbox added its own page.

PS5 Pro Enhanced: The PlayStation Store listing confirms GTA 6 carries the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label, signalling optimised performance on Sony’s premium console. Rockstar detailed DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive trigger resistance, built-in speaker integration, and Tempest 3D Audio support.

Xbox visibility problem: Xbox branding has been almost entirely absent from GTA 6 marketing. Some fans have expressed concern that casual buyers might assume the game is a PlayStation exclusive.

The 8-to-1 affiliate ratio likely overstates the real gap because it captures only one website’s commerce audience. The actual split could be closer to 3-to-1 or 4-to-1, broadly in line with the install base difference plus Sony’s marketing advantage. But without audited retail data, the precise figure remains speculative.

How Big Are the Pre-Order Numbers Overall?

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not released official pre-order data. Analyst projections, however, paint a picture of potentially historic demand:

DFC Intelligence projected over $1 billion in pre-order revenue before launch and $3.2 billion in total first-year sales, with 40 million copies sold within 12 months.

Piper Sandler estimated GTA 6 could sell approximately 45 million copies within the first 24 hours of launch.

Tom Henderson (Insider Gaming) predicted 12 to 14 million copies sold in the first hour of pre-orders alone, generating over $1 billion.

Unverified social media claims of 39 million pre-orders and $3 billion in revenue circulated on 25 June, but these figures were not sourced from Rockstar or Take-Two and have been widely described as rumour rather than confirmed data.

Console Shortages Could Complicate Launch

The pre-order surge is raising concerns about console availability. The Game Business reported that a major retailer warned of stock shortages heading into the holiday season, citing ongoing hardware component supply issues. The unnamed retail source stated: “Demand will likely outstrip supply during the year-end period.”

Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball confirmed supply constraints publicly: “The demand for our console exceeds the supply. We are producing them as quickly as possible. There are constraints here.” Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki told investors that “the necessary volume” of PS5 stock had been secured for 2026, but retailers are sceptical that secured supply will meet the GTA 6-driven demand spike.

In an early indicator, Italian retailer Showgame saw its PS5 allocation of GTA 6 sell out before the official pre-order window even opened, while Xbox stock remained available.

GTA 6 Pricing and Editions at a Glance

Edition

Price (USD)

What Is Included

Standard Edition

$79.99

Base game + Vintage Vice City Pack (pre-order before 20 November)

Ultimate Edition

$99.99

Base game + premium vehicles, character tattoos, weapon styles, Vintage Vice City Pack

The Vintage Vice City Pack, available to everyone who pre-orders or buys before 20 November 2026, includes a Vapid Stanier vehicle, an Ocean Beach garage, and Tommy Vercetti-inspired outfits as a nod to the 2002 classic. Digital pre-loading begins on 12 November, and physical boxed copies ship the same day with a download code rather than a disc.

What About PC?

GTA 6 launches exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. No PC version has been announced for day one. Based on Rockstar’s established pattern with GTA V (console launch in 2013, PC in 2015) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (console launch in 2018, PC in 2019), a PC release is widely expected in 2027 but remains unconfirmed.

Things Players Keep Asking

Is GTA 6 a PlayStation exclusive? No. The game launches simultaneously on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026. Sony’s marketing deal covers branding and promotional materials, not platform exclusivity.

Should Xbox players still pre-order? Microsoft says Xbox pre-orders are at record levels. The game is identical in release date and core content across both platforms. Your choice of console should be driven by your existing ecosystem and friend list, not marketing perceptions.

Are the 39 million pre-order claims real? These figures are unverified. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has released official pre-order numbers. The claim circulated on social media without a traceable primary source.

Will there be enough consoles? Both Sony and Microsoft have acknowledged supply challenges. Retailers are warning that holiday-season demand will exceed available stock, especially for PS5.

Does affiliate data mean anything? Affiliate link clicks show trends within one website’s audience. They can hint at direction but cannot establish global market ratios. They are a proxy measurement, not a definitive verdict.

What This Means for the Console Landscape

GTA 6 is shaping up to be the defining launch of this console generation. PlayStation’s combination of a larger install base, an aggressive marketing partnership with Rockstar, and PS5 Pro Enhanced branding has given Sony a visible lead in pre-order momentum. Microsoft’s rare public response signals that Xbox is taking the narrative seriously, even if its “record orders” claim confirms strong demand on its own platform.

The real numbers will only become clear when Take-Two reports earnings or when independent tracking firms like Circana publish audited sales data after launch. Until then, every ratio in circulation should be treated as directional, not definitive. What is beyond dispute: GTA 6 is on track to be the biggest entertainment launch in history, and demand is overwhelming on both consoles.

Two separate leaks point to GTA 6 offering Performance and Quality graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, with 60 FPS potentially arriving at or after launch.

Two separate leaks point to GTA 6 offering Performance and Quality graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, with 60 FPS potentially arriving at or after launch.

GTA 6 will offer two separate graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, according to two independent leaks that surfaced within days of each other. A MediaMarkt Poland pre-order listing briefly confirmed the existence of Performance and Quality modes before the page was updated, while Polish insider Borys Nieśpielak claimed on the Rock and Borys podcast that the Performance mode targets 60 FPS. The game launches November 19, 2026, with pre-orders already live at a standard price of €80 / $80.

What Did the MediaMarkt Listing Actually Say?

On June 23, a FAQ section on MediaMarkt Poland’s GTA 6 pre-order page stated: “Next-generation consoles offer two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality), the use of DualSense controller features on PS5 providing realistic haptic vibrations, and lightning-fast loading screens thanks to the power of SSD drives.” The listing was spotted by a ResetEra user and quickly went viral before MediaMarkt removed the details.

The critical point: the listing did not mention any frame rate numbers. It confirmed a two-mode structure, which is standard for modern PS5 and Xbox Series X titles, but never specified whether Performance mode means 60 FPS, 40 FPS, or something else entirely. Digital Foundry noted in their weekly column that such language could easily be boilerplate or AI-generated placeholder text that MediaMarkt applied prematurely.

Borys Nieśpielak’s Claim: 30 FPS and 60 FPS Modes

Days after the MediaMarkt leak, Borys Nieśpielak provided far more specific details on the Rock and Borys podcast (at the 30:20 mark). Citing a single but reportedly reliable source close to Rockstar Games, he stated that GTA 6 will feature a 30 FPS Quality mode and a 60 FPS Performance mode on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Nieśpielak added a significant caveat: Rockstar has not yet decided whether the 60 FPS mode will be ready for the November 19 launch. Development is under heavy time pressure, and if the Performance mode does not meet the studio’s standards by launch day, it could arrive as a post-launch update instead.

His track record adds weight to the claim. As AltChar reported, Nieśpielak correctly predicted that Ciri would be the protagonist of The Witcher 4 years before the official announcement, and accurately revealed the Witcher 3 expansion “Songs of the Past” before CD Projekt Red confirmed it. However, this is his first Rockstar-related leak, and the information comes from a single source, so caution is warranted.

Xbox Series S: Locked at 30 FPS

According to Nieśpielak, the Xbox Series S is currently running GTA 6 at 30 FPS in its test builds. Rockstar is reportedly working with a dedicated Microsoft engineering team to push for 60 FPS on the less powerful console, but the hardware gap makes this a difficult target. Series S owners should realistically expect 30 FPS at launch, with any improvement uncertain.

What About the PS5 Pro?

Neither the MediaMarkt listing nor Nieśpielak’s podcast specifically detailed PS5 Pro performance. However, separate retailer listings from Amazon Brazil and Kabum previously described PS5 Pro optimization as offering “more stable frame rates and even sharper resolutions.” An earlier 2025 leak from Detective Seeds on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that Sony engineers were working directly with Rockstar to achieve 60 FPS across multiple graphical presets on PS5 Pro.

A previous technical breakdown on GTA Atlas suggested PS5 Pro could offer a Fidelity mode at native 4K with full ray tracing at 30 FPS, alongside a Performance mode at dynamic 1440p-4K targeting 60 FPS with reduced ray tracing. None of this has been confirmed by Rockstar.

Why Digital Foundry Is Skeptical

Digital Foundry’s analysis throws cold water on the 60 FPS excitement. In their DF Weekly column published on June 29, the outlet pointed out that every GTA 6 trailer so far has been rendered at 30 FPS with heavy ray-traced global illumination. Achieving 60 FPS would require significant visual cutbacks that might fall below Rockstar’s own quality standards.

The team also noted that the retailer descriptions could simply refer to a 30 FPS mode versus a 40 FPS mode, or even a locked 30 FPS mode versus a variable frame rate mode that pushes visuals harder but occasionally dips below 30 FPS. A 40 FPS preset for 120 Hz displays was flagged as a more realistic compromise than a full 60 FPS mode on base PS5 hardware.

Rockstar’s Track Record With Frame Rates

History suggests caution. GTA 5 originally launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 at 30 FPS and only received a 60 FPS performance mode with its PS5 and Xbox Series X remaster years later. Red Dead Redemption 2 took over two years after the current-gen consoles launched to receive a 60 FPS patch. Former Rockstar animator Mike York publicly stated that Rockstar was “shooting for 30 FPS, a locked 30 FPS” on current consoles.

If GTA 6 does ship with a 60 FPS mode at or near launch, it would represent a significant departure from Rockstar’s historical approach. That possibility makes the leak exciting, but also explains why many analysts remain unconvinced until Rockstar shows actual gameplay footage.

GTA 6 Pricing and Pre-Order Details

GTA 6 pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. The Standard Edition costs €80 in Europe and $80 in the US. The Ultimate Edition, which includes additional vehicles, weapons, and cosmetics, is priced at €100 / $99.99. Pre-order customers receive the Vintage Vice City Pack as a bonus. The game launches exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no PC version announced yet. Industry estimates place the earliest possible PC release around late 2027.

Questions Players Keep Asking

Will GTA 6 run at 60 FPS on PS5?

According to the leak, Rockstar is targeting 60 FPS in a dedicated Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Whether it will be available at launch or arrive later via a patch remains uncertain. Rockstar has not confirmed any frame rate targets.

Is the 60 FPS leak confirmed?

No. The information comes from a single insider source and a retailer listing that did not specify frame rates. The insider has a strong track record with other publishers, but this is his first Rockstar leak. Treat it as plausible but unconfirmed.

What about Xbox Series S?

The Xbox Series S is reportedly locked at 30 FPS in current test builds. Rockstar and Microsoft are working on it, but 60 FPS on Series S hardware is considered unlikely by most analysts.

Will PS5 Pro run GTA 6 better?

Multiple retailer listings and earlier leaks suggest PS5 Pro will offer enhanced performance, including more stable frame rates and higher resolutions. It is widely expected to deliver the most consistent 60 FPS experience if such a mode exists.

Could 40 FPS be the real target?

Digital Foundry has flagged 40 FPS on 120 Hz displays as a realistic compromise between 30 FPS quality mode and a full 60 FPS performance mode, especially on base PS5 and Xbox Series X hardware.

What Happens Next

Rockstar has not shown any gameplay footage for GTA 6 yet. The first gameplay reveal will be the clearest signal of what performance targets the studio is actually pursuing. Until then, the two-mode structure (Performance and Quality) looks near-certain based on the MediaMarkt listing and Nieśpielak’s source, while the 60 FPS target remains firmly in the “plausible but unconfirmed” category.

For players looking to get ready for GTA 6 by exploring the current GTA universe, GTA 5 Online accounts are available on GamerMarkt for a head start on the franchise experience.

Red Bull Login 2026 brought thousands of gamers to Istanbul’s Paribu Art, where Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Game of the Year, GTA 6 took Most Anticipated, and Donkey Kong Bananza was named Most Overrated.

Red Bull Login 2026 took place on 28 June at Paribu Art in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district, drawing thousands of attendees for Turkey’s biggest community-driven gaming event. In a bracket-style tournament pitting 32 titles against each other, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned “Game of the Year” while GTA 6, set for a 19 November 2026 launch, was voted “Most Anticipated Game.” Donkey Kong Bananza received the less flattering “Most Overrated” title.

What Happened at Red Bull Login 2026?

Sponsored by İtopya and organised alongside popular Turkish gaming personality Enis Kirazoğlu, Red Bull Login has grown into one of the largest gaming community events in Turkey. The 2026 edition moved to Paribu Art at Terminal Kadıköy, expanding from last year’s venue at ESA Esports Arena in Maslak. Content creator Limonify hosted the main programme, guiding a live audience through panel discussions, interactive voting, and a core gaming panel that put the year’s biggest releases under a microscope.

A ten-person jury of prominent Turkish gaming creators and journalists evaluated the 32 nominated titles. The panel included Orhun Kayaalp, Dost Kayaoğlu, Batu Bozkan, Efe Uygaç, Ege Arseven, Ersin Kılıç, Selin Yoko, Gürkan Gürak, Gül Gürak, and Faruk Akıncı. Their scores were combined with live audience votes to determine each category winner, giving the event a uniquely democratic format.

Why Did Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Win Game of the Year?

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by French indie studio Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive, has been on a remarkable run since its April 2025 launch. Built in Unreal Engine 5 by a core team of just 30 people based in Montpellier, the turn-based RPG drew critical acclaim for its Belle Époque-inspired art direction, emotionally charged narrative, and orchestral score. At The Game Awards in December 2025, it secured a record-breaking 9 wins from 12 nominations, including the coveted Game of the Year trophy.

The game’s premise is striking: a mysterious figure called the Paintress marks a number on a monolith each year, and everyone older than that number is erased from existence. Players guide a team of heroes on what may be humanity’s final expedition to stop her. Studio founder Guillaume Broche started the project as a solo passion effort while still working at Ubisoft, eventually forming Sandfall Interactive in 2020 with co-founder Tom Guillermin. The team recruited talent through Reddit, SoundCloud, and social media, including lead writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, who originally auditioned as a voice actor. With over 5 million players worldwide, the game proved that a small studio can compete at the highest level.

GTA 6: Why It Dominates the Most Anticipated Conversation

Grand Theft Auto 6 winning the “Most Anticipated” vote at Red Bull Login 2026 surprises no one. Rockstar Games’ next blockbuster has held that title at virtually every major gaming event since its December 2023 reveal, including back-to-back wins at The Game Awards in 2024 and 2025. With pre-orders opening on 25 June 2026 and a confirmed release date of 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the hype cycle entered its final phase just days before the Istanbul event.

The game is set in the fictional US state of Leonida, home to Vice City, a reimagined version of Miami. Rockstar confirmed two editions: a Standard Edition at $79.99 USD (€79.99 in Europe) and an Ultimate Edition at $99.99 USD (€99.99). The Ultimate Edition includes premium vehicles, exclusive weapon skins, two additional side activities, customisation shops, and Vice City-themed outfits. All pre-order customers, regardless of edition, receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. Pre-loading begins on 12 November, a full week before launch. Physical copies will ship as boxed download codes with no disc included.

A PC version has not been announced. Following Rockstar’s established pattern with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, a PC release is widely expected but likely won’t arrive until late 2027 or 2028. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly stated the 19 November date is final, telling investors the game “won’t be delayed again.”

Donkey Kong Bananza: The Overrated Pick

The event’s third major vote category, “Most Overrated Game of 2026,” went to Donkey Kong Bananza. Nintendo’s platformer won Best Family Game at The Game Awards 2025 and received broadly positive reviews, but the Red Bull Login audience felt it failed to deliver on its pre-release promise. The vote reflects a growing trend among younger gaming communities: high expectations for every major release, paired with little tolerance for titles that feel safe or formulaic.

What Red Bull Login Reveals About Gaming Culture

Red Bull Login is not a typical industry expo or press-focused showcase. It functions as a community-first event where content creators and their audiences gather to debate, vote, and celebrate gaming together. The format, built around live audience participation and elimination-bracket voting, mirrors how online gaming communities already discuss and rank titles on social media and forums. By formalising that conversation on a physical stage, Red Bull Login has become a cultural barometer for Turkish gaming preferences, and the 2026 results offer insight that extends beyond Turkey’s borders.

Clair Obscur’s win demonstrates that story-driven indie RPGs can capture mainstream community enthusiasm when the quality is undeniable. GTA 6’s dominance in the anticipation category confirms what every sales forecast already suggests: Rockstar’s next release will be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history. And the Donkey Kong Bananza vote signals that even well-reviewed games from major publishers aren’t immune to community backlash when they feel like they played it too safe.

GTA 6 Key Details at a Glance

Ultimate Edition: $99.99 / €99.99

Pre-load date: 12 November 2026

Things Players Usually Ask

Is Red Bull Login open to international attendees?
Red Bull Login is a free event but requires registration through the official Red Bull website. The 2026 edition reached capacity before the event date, so early sign-up is essential. While the programme is conducted in Turkish, the event welcomes all attendees.

How did Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 beat major AAA titles?
The game’s combination of community love, critical acclaim, and cultural impact made it a standout. It swept 9 categories at The Game Awards 2025, surpassed 5 million players, and holds one of the highest Metacritic scores in recent years. At Red Bull Login, both jury expertise and thousands of audience votes confirmed its status.

Will GTA 6 have an online multiplayer mode at launch?
Rockstar described GTA 6 as “a single-player experience” at launch. No new GTA Online successor or multiplayer component has been confirmed for day one. The existing GTA Online is expected to remain available separately.

When will GTA 6 come to PC?
There is no official PC announcement. Rockstar historically launches Grand Theft Auto titles on consoles first, with PC versions following roughly 12 to 18 months later. Based on this pattern, a PC release could arrive in late 2027 or 2028.

Red Bull Login 2026 captured a snapshot of where the gaming community stands in mid-2026: deeply impressed by what a 30-person French studio achieved with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, counting down the days until GTA 6’s November launch, and unafraid to call out major releases that don’t meet expectations. As the year’s biggest titles continue to shape the conversation, events like this prove that the community’s voice is the loudest critic and the most honest champion.

Sony CEO Hideaki Nishino has confirmed PlayStation’s split strategy in a Famitsu interview: first-party single-player games stay exclusive to PlayStation consoles, while live-service titles launch simultaneously on PS5 and PC. New portable hardware hints add another layer to Sony’s evolving plans.

Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Hideaki Nishino has drawn a clear line through PlayStation’s platform strategy in a June 2026 interview with Japanese outlet Famitsu. First-party single-player games will remain exclusive to PlayStation hardware, with no planned PC ports. Live-service multiplayer titles, on the other hand, will continue launching simultaneously on PS5 and PC as standard practice. Nishino also hinted at new hardware form factors, keeping rumours of a true PlayStation portable console alive.

What Exactly Did Nishino Confirm?

Nishino’s statement leaves little room for ambiguity. “For single-player games developed in-house, we will further refine the value of the gaming experience that PlayStation can offer,” he told Famitsu. For live-service titles, the approach stays open: “We believe it is important to enable as many people as possible to play through online multiplayer, so we will continue to regard releases on both PS5 and PC as the basic approach.”

This confirms what Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier first reported in February 2026: Sony is pulling back from porting its prestige narrative games to PC. Titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yōtei, Saros, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophecy will not be coming to Steam. The 12-to-18-month PC port window that players had grown accustomed to is effectively gone for single-player first-party releases.

Why Is Sony Pulling Single-Player Games Away from PC?

Over the past few years, Sony brought God of War, The Last of Us Part I, and Marvel’s Spider-Man to PC with significant commercial results. However, internal evaluations reportedly showed that these ports were weakening the value proposition of owning a PlayStation console. If a player could simply wait a year for a PC version, the incentive to buy a PS5 diminished.

The financial argument also shifted. While PC ports generated revenue, they did not appear to fully compensate for the erosion of console hardware sales and the PlayStation Store ecosystem revenue that comes with a locked-in user base. Sony now wants its flagship studios (Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Insomniac Games) building experiences that make the console itself feel essential.

Live-Service Games: Why They Stay on PC

Live-service games operate on fundamentally different economics. They require large, active player bases to sustain matchmaking, community engagement, and ongoing microtransaction revenue. Restricting an online multiplayer game to a single platform is, as multiple industry analysts have noted, a death sentence in the current market.

Nishino confirmed this directly: live-service projects will continue to target both PS5 and PC. Existing titles like Helldivers 2, Gran Turismo 7, and Destiny 2 remain key revenue contributors. Sony’s biggest live-service launch for the rest of 2026 is MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a 4v4 tag-team fighter co-developed with Arc System Works. It arrives on August 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC with full cross-platform play, priced from $60 for the Standard Edition up to $100 for the Ultimate Edition.

Bungie’s Marathon, an extraction shooter and the next major test of Sony’s live-service ambitions, is also confirmed for multi-platform release.

Has Sony Learned from the Concord Disaster?

Concord launched in August 2024, sold an estimated 25,000 copies, and shut down within two weeks, becoming one of PlayStation’s most high-profile failures. Developer Firewalk Studios was subsequently closed. Sony Group CFO Lin Tao later admitted the live-service strategy was “not entirely going smoothly.”

Despite this, Nishino made clear in Famitsu that Sony is not abandoning the model. “The genre itself is relatively new, and many people are trying various things. We also want to continue to take on challenges within that context,” he said. PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst has explained that Sony implemented “much more rigorous and more frequent testing” in response to Concord, with the goal of catching failures early and cheaply rather than after a full-scale launch.

Helldivers 2 remains the proof point that the model works when executed well. Whether MARVEL Tōkon and Marathon can replicate even a fraction of that success will determine how confidently Sony invests in the next wave of live-service projects.

Which Games Are Affected?

Category

Games

PC Status

Console Exclusive (Single-Player)

Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yōtei, Saros, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophecy

No PC release planned

Live Service (Multiplayer)

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Marathon, Helldivers 2

Simultaneous PS5 and PC

Transitional Exceptions

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kena: Scars of Kosmora

PC release expected (pre-existing deals)

One important nuance: Nishino specifically said “single-player games developed in-house.” This phrasing suggests that second-party and third-party partnership titles, such as Stellar Blade or Rise of the Ronin, may still receive PC ports. The restriction appears targeted at games made by PlayStation’s own studios.

PlayStation Portal and the Portable Hardware Question

Beyond software strategy, Nishino’s Famitsu interview contained telling hardware comments. “My belief that a game console is necessary for playing games remains unchanged,” he said. “I think we can create something interesting by utilising technologies that can be used in various forms and locations to develop new game console experiences.”

The PlayStation Portal is the current embodiment of this vision. After cloud streaming exited beta in November 2025, user numbers grew 1.5x month-over-month by January 2026. As of mid-2026, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can stream over 2,000 PS5 and classic titles on the Portal without powering on a console. A March 2026 firmware update added a 1080p High Quality mode for both Remote Play and cloud streaming.

But the bigger story is what comes next. Multiple hardware leakers have reported that Sony is developing a true native-play handheld, internally linked to the PS6 project. According to widely cited leaks, this device would feature an AMD APU with Zen 6 CPU cores and RDNA 5 GPU compute units, support PS5 and PS4 backward compatibility, include USB-C video output for TV docking, and target a price around $400 to $500. Manufacturing is reportedly planned for mid-2027 with a fall 2027 or early 2028 retail launch, potentially alongside the PS6 home console.

Sony has not officially confirmed any of this. However, Nishino’s repeated references to “different forms and locations” for gaming hardware align closely with these reports.

What This Means for the Broader Market

Sony’s decision to restrict single-player exclusives arrives at a time when Microsoft has moved aggressively in the opposite direction, bringing Xbox-branded games to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms. The contrast is deliberate. Sony believes that exclusive content drives hardware adoption, while Microsoft is betting on services and reach.

For PC gamers in Europe and globally, the practical impact is clear: major PlayStation narrative games like the next God of War or a hypothetical Last of Us sequel will not be available on Steam at launch, and may never arrive at all. The only PlayStation content reliably reaching PC will be multiplayer and live-service titles.

For console owners, Sony is betting that this exclusivity makes the PS5 (and eventually PS6) a more compelling purchase. The rumoured portable handheld adds another layer: if Sony can offer a Switch-style device that plays PS5 games natively, the PlayStation ecosystem becomes harder to ignore even for players who primarily game on the go.

Common Questions About Sony’s Strategy Shift

Will single-player PlayStation games ever come to PC again?
Nishino did not say “never,” but the current policy is firm. The 12-18 month port window is gone for first-party titles. If ports return in the future, the gap could stretch to three to five years or longer.

Are third-party PlayStation exclusives affected?
Not necessarily. Nishino’s language specifically referenced “in-house” single-player games. Partnership titles developed by external studios may still receive PC releases.

Is Sony making a new handheld console?
No official announcement has been made, but multiple credible leaks point to a PS6-era handheld with native game playback, AMD silicon, and a 2027 launch window. The PlayStation Portal’s strong growth suggests there is genuine demand for portable PlayStation gaming.

What happened to Sony’s plan for 12 live-service games by March 2026?
That original target was drastically scaled back after cancellations (including a live-service God of War at Bluepoint Games) and delays. Sony’s approach is now more selective, focusing on quality over quantity after the Concord failure.

Will MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls be on Xbox?
No. The game launches on PS5 and PC only on August 6, 2026. It is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and is a console exclusive outside of PC.

The Bigger Picture

PlayStation’s two-track strategy is a calculated bet. Single-player exclusives protect the console’s identity and drive hardware sales. Live-service games on PC maximise player bases and recurring revenue. A potential portable console could bridge both worlds, giving Sony presence in a market currently dominated by Nintendo Switch 2 and the Steam Deck ecosystem.

The next 18 months will be decisive. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls and Marathon will test whether Sony’s live-service investments can produce consistent hits beyond Helldivers 2. The rumoured PS6 and PS6 Handheld will determine whether Sony can maintain hardware relevance in an increasingly platform-agnostic world. And the single-player exclusivity bet will either reinforce the PlayStation brand’s premium status or leave money on the table as PC gaming continues to grow across Europe and beyond.

OnMobile Global launched the Onmo+ Smart Console in India on June 26, 2026, offering cloud gaming with AMD GPU servers, a hall-effect Pro Controller, and 100+ games starting at just $53. Here’s how it stacks up against GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the rest.

OnMobile Global launched Onmo+ Smart Console in India on June 26, 2026, entering the cloud gaming market with a hardware-plus-subscription bundle priced at just ₹4,999 (roughly $53). The package includes the Smart Console device, a wireless Pro Controller with hall-effect triggers, and a three-month subscription providing access to over 100 games. Available exclusively through Flipkart at launch, Onmo+ positions itself as a budget gateway to premium gaming without expensive hardware.

What Exactly Is the Onmo+ Smart Console?

Despite the “console” branding, the Onmo+ Smart Console is not a traditional gaming device. It does not process games locally. Instead, it acts as a streaming terminal that connects to OnMobile’s remote GPU servers, where all rendering happens. The servers use custom-built AMD graphics accelerators housed in ASRock Rack server infrastructure deployed across northern and southern India to minimise latency.

Players connect the Smart Console to a monitor or TV and stream games at up to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, with the company stating that upgrades to 4K and 120 FPS are planned. The platform also works on laptops, tablets, and smartphones through web and app access, making it device-agnostic in a way similar to GeForce NOW or Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Game Library and Steam Integration

At launch, the Onmo+ catalogue includes over 100 titles spanning multiple genres. Named games so far include The Forgotten City, Arise: A Simple Story, AO Tennis 2, and Gravity Circuit. OnMobile says new titles will be added monthly, covering both casual and enthusiast preferences.

Beyond the built-in library, Onmo+ supports streaming of compatible user-owned games. Players with existing Steam libraries can connect their accounts and run supported AAA titles on Onmo+’s AMD-powered cloud servers. This bring-your-own-library (BYOL) feature parallels the model used by GeForce NOW and Boosteroid, though the exact number of supported third-party titles has not been disclosed yet.

Pricing and Subscription Plans

The Onmo+ Smart Console bundle costs ₹4,999 (approximately $53) and includes three months of service. Longer subscription options are available separately:

6-month plan: $64

12-month plan: $76 (roughly $6.33 per month)

Post-subscription renewal pricing and a standalone subscription option (without buying the console) have not yet been announced. These will be critical details for long-term competitiveness, especially when compared with services like GeForce NOW’s free tier or Boosteroid’s ~€10/month plans.

The Pro Controller: Hall-Effect Triggers and Macros

The bundled Onmo+ Pro Controller features hall-effect triggers, which use magnetic sensors rather than traditional potentiometers. This design significantly reduces the risk of stick drift over time, a common pain point with conventional controllers. The controller also supports programmable macros and one-click device switching, letting players move between TV and mobile sessions seamlessly.

Who Is OnMobile Global?

OnMobile Global Limited (NSE: ONMOBILE, BSE: 532944) was incorporated in 2000 as a spin-off from Infosys, initially focused on telecom value-added services. Headquartered in Bengaluru, India, the company operates in 41 countries and reaches over 70 million monthly active subscribers through its telecom operator partnerships. The Onmo+ Smart Console marks OnMobile’s first direct-to-consumer product, shifting the company from a purely B2B model into the consumer gaming space.

François-Charles Sirois, Executive Chairman and CEO of OnMobile, described the launch as removing “the barriers associated with traditional console gaming” and making premium gaming accessible to a much wider audience.

How Does Onmo+ Compare to Existing Cloud Gaming Services?

The cloud gaming market in 2026 is a crowded space. According to Mordor Intelligence, the global market reached $6.23 billion in 2026 and is projected to hit $21.62 billion by 2031. Onmo+ enters this landscape alongside well-established platforms, each with distinct strengths.

Service

Model

Monthly Cost (Approx.)

Max Resolution

Mobile Support

Onmo+

Own catalogue + BYOL

~$6.33/mo (annual plan)

1080p / 60 FPS

Yes

GeForce NOW

BYOL (Steam/Epic/GOG)

Free – $19.99/mo

4K / 120 FPS

Yes

Xbox Cloud Gaming

Game Pass library

~$17/mo (Game Pass Ultimate)

1080p / 60 FPS

Yes

Amazon Luna

Channel-based

~$9.99/mo

1080p / 60 FPS

Yes

Boosteroid

BYOL + catalogue

~€12.89/mo

4K / 120 FPS

Yes

Shadow PC

Full cloud Windows PC

~$34/mo

4K / 240 FPS

Yes

GeForce NOW remains the strongest overall cloud gaming service in 2026 according to multiple independent reviews, thanks to its RTX 5080 server hardware, 4K streaming capability, and the ability to play games users already own across Steam, Epic, and other stores. Xbox Cloud Gaming appeals to Game Pass subscribers who want instant access to hundreds of titles without owning them individually. Boosteroid offers solid European coverage at a budget-friendly price.

Onmo+’s main differentiator is its ultra-low entry cost. At $53 for hardware plus three months of service, it undercuts every major competitor’s hardware requirements. However, its 1080p/60 FPS cap, limited game catalogue, and India-only availability are clear limitations at launch.

India’s Growing Gaming Market

Onmo+’s India-first strategy makes strategic sense. The country has over 500 million gamers, the vast majority playing on mobile devices. Traditional console ownership remains low due to high import costs and limited retail distribution. Cloud gaming services offer a way to deliver console-quality experiences without the hardware barrier, and OnMobile’s decision to deploy local GPU infrastructure across multiple Indian regions directly addresses the latency concerns that have historically plagued cloud gaming in the subcontinent.

Onmo+ is not the first cloud gaming service in India. GeForce NOW and Xbox Cloud Gaming are both available, and JioGames Cloud (backed by Reliance Jio) has been operating in the market as well. But Onmo+’s aggressive pricing and bundled hardware approach could appeal to first-time gamers and families looking for an affordable way into premium gaming.

Will Onmo+ Expand Beyond India?

OnMobile has not announced specific expansion plans, but the company operates across 41 countries through its telecom operator network. The official press release describes the Smart Console as “available directly to consumers via retailers and e-commerce platforms, as well as distributed across OnMobile’s operator ecosystem globally,” suggesting international rollout is at least being considered. For European and North American gamers, though, the service remains unavailable for now.

What Players Want to Know

Can I use Onmo+ without buying the Smart Console?

Not yet. OnMobile has stated that a standalone subscription option (without the console hardware) will be announced soon, but pricing and availability details are still pending.

What internet speed do I need?

OnMobile has not published a specific minimum bandwidth requirement. Based on standard cloud gaming recommendations across similar platforms, a stable connection of at least 15-25 Mbps should be expected, with wired ethernet preferred over Wi-Fi for the lowest latency.

Is Onmo+ a real competitor to GeForce NOW?

At this stage, the two services target different audiences. GeForce NOW offers up to 4K/120 FPS on RTX 5080 hardware and supports over 1,500 games from major PC storefronts. Onmo+ is currently capped at 1080p/60 FPS with a much smaller catalogue. However, Onmo+’s $53 all-in entry price makes it accessible to players who would never consider a $20/month subscription tier.

Does Onmo+ support keyboard and mouse?

The launch bundle includes a Pro Controller, and Onmo+ is designed around controller-based gameplay. Support for keyboard and mouse input has not been confirmed.

What happens after the 3-month free subscription ends?

Users can purchase renewal packs. The 6-month plan costs $64 and the 12-month plan costs $76. Monthly renewal pricing has not been announced yet.

Onmo+ Smart Console represents an interesting experiment in making cloud gaming as accessible and affordable as possible. Whether its catalogue depth, streaming quality, and pricing model can sustain long-term growth against well-funded competitors will be the real test in the months ahead.

The fan-made GTA 6 interactive map at map.stateofleonida.net has reached v13, now featuring over 1,570 markers covering Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, and every confirmed region in the state of Leonida.

The fan-made GTA 6 interactive map reached version 13 on June 24, 2026, and now contains over 1,570 individual markers across the fictional state of Leonida. While Rockstar Games has not released an official world map, the community-driven project at map.stateofleonida.net reconstructs the game world frame by frame using trailers, official screenshots, and pre-order promotional materials. Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders live since June 25.

What Is the State of Leonida Map Project?

The State of Leonida project is the work of dedicated GTA mapping community members, most notably Saukko505 and Yanis, who have spent years analyzing every pixel of Rockstar’s official output. The v13 update was triggered by the new Vice City clip Rockstar released alongside its pre-order announcement on June 18. Every building, highway, beach, and landmark visible in trailers or screenshots has been cross-referenced with real Florida geography and placed on the interactive map.

Markers are sorted into four main categories: 1,441 Landmarks, 42 Leaks, 50 Trailer locations, and 37 Screenshot matches. Clicking any marker reveals the source evidence, whether that is a specific trailer frame, a screenshot comparison, or a real-world Florida equivalent. The map supports English and German, runs directly in the browser, and offers features like heatmap overlays, clustering, and customizable visual themes.

Which Locations Has Rockstar Officially Confirmed?

Rockstar Games has confirmed six major regions within Leonida: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. These span at least three named counties: Vice-Dale County in the southeast, Leonard County to the north, and Kelly County in the northwest. The community map goes well beyond these official confirmations, adding hundreds of buildings, roads, bridges, and commercial locations derived from visual analysis.

Location

Status

Type

Vice City

Confirmed

City

Port Gellhorn

Confirmed

City

Ambrosia

Confirmed

Industrial Town

Leonida Keys

Confirmed

Tropical Archipelago

Grassrivers

Confirmed

Wetlands

Mount Kalaga National Park

Confirmed

National Park

Lake Leonida

Confirmed

Lake

Vice City International Airport

Confirmed

Airport

Ocean Beach

Confirmed

Landmark

Malibu Club

Confirmed

Landmark

Little Haiti

Rumoured

District

Washington Beach

Rumoured

District

Venetian Islands

Rumoured

Islands

Vice City: The Neon-Lit Urban Core

Vice City sits on the southeastern coastline of Leonida, not in the centre of the map as some early theories suggested. Inspired by modern Miami, it serves as the game’s primary urban setting, combining luxury neighbourhoods, crowded beaches, nightlife, ports, business districts, and dense residential streets. The community map shows it as by far the most densely marked area, with well over 200 individually tagged structures.

Confirmed Vice City landmarks include Ocean Beach, Vice Beach, Ocean Drive, Vice City International Airport, VC Port (described by Rockstar as “the cruise ship capital of the world”), the Malibu Club, the Monument of Leonida, South Tower, Vercetti Estate, and the Starlet Motel. Rumoured districts such as Little Haiti, Leaf Links, Rockridge, Washington Beach, South Beach, Stockyard, and the Venetian Islands have strong trailer evidence but remain unconfirmed by Rockstar.

The sheer density of enterable locations in Vice City is expected to dwarf any previous GTA title. Community estimates put the number of walk-in interiors across the full game at over 700, including restaurants, nightclubs, motels, gun stores, metro stations, and residential buildings.

Leonida Keys: Where Jason and Lucia’s Story Begins

The Leonida Keys are GTA 6’s version of the Florida Keys: a chain of tropical islands connected by long bridges and coastal roads stretching across the southern edge of the map. Based on Trailer 2 footage, protagonists Jason and Lucia start the game here, with their initial safehouse located on one of the islands.

Key Lento (based on Key Largo) appears to be the main settlement, with confirmed points of interest including Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, One-Eyed Willie’s, and The Rusty Anchor. The community map reveals the Keys extend much further east than originally expected. Underwater exploration around the Keys is anticipated to be one of GTA 6’s standout features, with coral reefs, shipwrecks, and submerged caves marked on the interactive map.

Grassrivers: The Everglades Reimagined

Grassrivers occupy the southwestern portion of Leonida and represent Rockstar’s take on Florida’s Everglades. The region is one of the largest natural areas on the map, consisting of swamps, mangroves, rivers, marshes, and wildlife habitats. Rockstar has shown airboats, alligators, dense vegetation, and hovercraft traversal through the area in its trailers.

According to the mapping project, Grassrivers is substantially larger than many early theories suggested. Paradise Garage and Watson Bay are confirmed locations within the region. The area connects the southern tip of the map near the Leonida Keys to the interior, making it a critical corridor for exploration. Community speculation points to hidden stash houses, off-grid NPC communities, and treasure locations accessible only by airboat.

Port Gellhorn: Leonida’s Forgotten Coast

Sitting on the western coastline, Port Gellhorn is inspired by Panama City, Florida. Rockstar officially describes it as “Leonida’s forgotten coast” with cheap motels, shut-down attractions, and empty strip malls. The economy runs on “malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks,” according to the game’s official website description.

The Starlet Motel and Delights Cabaret are confirmed points of interest. Biker gangs maintain a strong presence throughout the region, tying directly into the main story. The community map shows Port Gellhorn’s industrial coastline connected to major highways and railway lines, making it a key logistics hub within the game world.

Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga: The Rural Interior

Located beside Lake Leonida, Ambrosia serves as Leonida’s agricultural and industrial heartland. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery dominates the local economy, while highways, farmland, railroads, and factories surround the town. Rockstar hints that biker gangs provide “almost everything else” in this area, suggesting a raw, land-based criminal economy very different from Vice City’s glamour.

Mount Kalaga National Park occupies the northernmost border of Leonida, introducing dense forests, canyons, rivers, hiking trails, and off-road routes. This is the closest GTA 6 gets to Red Dead Redemption terrain. Rockstar describes the area as home to “hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals,” with activities expected to include hunting, fishing, and off-road exploration. The mapping project shows the park borders another state called Gloriana, referenced through in-game license plates and road signs.

How Accurate Is the Fan-Made Map?

The community project is transparent about its limitations. Out of 1,570 markers, 223 are currently tagged as “Unconfirmed.” The project underwent a major revision in early 2026 when the panhandle section was removed entirely, not because it was proven to be fake, but because there was no direct evidence for its existence in any official material. This made the map smaller but significantly more accurate.

The mapping community applies strict evidence standards. Only locations shown directly in trailers, screenshots, or official Rockstar materials qualify as confirmed. Everything else is clearly labelled as speculation. The project’s creators estimate a 10 to 15 percent margin of error, which will narrow as Rockstar releases more marketing material ahead of the November launch.

How Does the GTA 6 Map Compare to GTA 5?

Feature

GTA 5 (Los Santos)

GTA 6 (Leonida)

Major cities

1 (Los Santos)

1 major + 4 sub-cities

Confirmed counties

2

5+

Enterable locations

~150

700+ (estimated)

Distinct biomes

3-4

6

Underwater exploration

Limited

Extensive

Highway network

Moderate

Extensive interstate system

Estimated map size

~49 sq miles

~83 sq miles (estimated)

Current community estimates suggest the GTA 6 map is approximately 1.5 to 2 times larger than GTA 5’s San Andreas. Beyond raw size, the density of interactive content per square mile appears far higher. GTA 5 had vast stretches of empty desert and mountain terrain, while Leonida fills nearly every area with explorable structures, dynamic events, and environmental variety spanning six distinct biomes.

Pre-Order Details and Release Timeline

GTA 6 pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 across PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and selected retailers. The Standard Edition is priced at €79.99 in Europe and $80 in the US. The Ultimate Edition costs €99.99 / $99.99 and includes additional vehicles, weapons, and cosmetic items. All pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack bonus content.

Physical copies will contain a code in a box rather than a disc. Preload starts on November 12, one week before the November 19 launch date. A PC version has not been announced, but Rockstar’s track record with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 suggests a PC port will follow months after the console release.

How to Explore the Interactive Map Right Now

The fan-made interactive map is freely accessible at map.stateofleonida.net. It works directly in any modern browser without downloads, supports mobile devices, and offers extensive customisation including dark mode, visual filters, marker clustering, and distance measurement in kilometres or miles. You can click any marker to view its source evidence, filter by category, and even play a location-guessing game based on trailer screenshots.

The map will continue updating with every new piece of official content Rockstar releases before launch. The much-anticipated third trailer is expected to add substantial new data. Once GTA 6 launches on November 19, the community plans to compare their reconstruction against the actual game world, making months of collaborative detective work one of the most fascinating experiments in gaming community history.

The 8-minute IGN First gameplay walkthrough of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced showcases a rebuilt Havana with overhauled parkour, stealth, combat, and seamless open-world transitions.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a ground-up remake of the 2013 pirate classic, launching July 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $59.99 / £50. On June 26, IGN published an eight-minute gameplay walkthrough led by lead level designer Jean Strachen, focused entirely on Havana. It is the most detailed look yet at how Ubisoft Singapore has rebuilt one of the original game’s densest open-world locations using the latest Anvil engine.

How Havana Has Been Rebuilt

Havana keeps the iconic layout of the 2013 original but every street and landmark has been reconstructed with significantly more detail and authenticity. The rebuilt Anvil engine introduces ray tracing, micropolygon rendering, and a dynamic weather system that puts Resynced on visual par with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. NPC density is noticeably higher, character behaviour is more varied, and there are no loading screens when entering the city. You can sail in, dock, and walk straight into Havana without a break.

Environmental storytelling is everywhere. NPCs perform localized activities and dynamic micro-events that add texture to each neighbourhood. Wildlife fills out the world with birds, livestock, and ambient animal movement. At nightfall, commercial activity fades as NPCs head home. Lanterns, window light, and brazeros transform the streets, and the cover of darkness creates new stealth opportunities.

What Changed in the Parkour System?

Parkour in Resynced is faster and more fluid than in the original. The walkthrough shows Edward transitioning seamlessly from street level to rooftops, guided by iconic white cloth and paint markers on buildings. Classic moves like corner swings and lifts return, but new additions push the system further: ziplines now connect high ground to low ground across long distances, landing recovery is quicker, and Edward can roll upon hitting the ground to maintain sprint speed.

Parkour doubles as a strategic escape tool, not just a navigation method. Transitions between rooftops, streets, and back up again flow without interruption, which makes evading enemies after a botched stealth approach much more viable than before.

How Does Stealth Work Now?

The single biggest quality-of-life improvement is that Edward can now crouch anywhere, at any time. In the 2013 original, crouching was limited to specific zones, which was a persistent frustration. That restriction is gone. Crouching modifies Edward’s visibility meter, making him harder to spot at medium to long range. At night, crouching makes him even less visible, and enemies take longer to detect him in the dark.

Social stealth returns in full. Edward can blend into nearby crowds to avoid detection, and the walkthrough demonstrates pickpocketing merchants mid-blend. Eagle Vision now includes the Observe feature first introduced in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, allowing players to tag enemies, find quest objectives, and identify targets from a cinematic close-up perspective.

Assassination Contracts and the Expanded Toolset

Pigeon coops scattered across Havana offer assassination contracts, each now accompanied by unique voice lines that distinguish it from the rest. Completing optional side objectives within each contract grants higher rewards.

The walkthrough showcases a wide range of tools available during these contracts:

Sleep Darts: Silently incapacitate enemies from long range, putting them temporarily to sleep.

Smoke Bombs: Break line of sight and stun NPCs caught inside, creating openings for attack or escape.

Rope Dart: Available earlier in the game than in the original. Pull enemies in close for a quick takedown or hang targets from rooftops for a cinematic kill.

Kick Attack: A powerful new special move that interrupts enemies and launches them backwards or off a roof.

Berserk Dart: Turns enemies against their own, thinning guard numbers before you engage directly.

Hireable groups of rowdy drunkards can also create distractions near restricted zones, drawing guards away and opening alternative routes to targets.

What Is Different About Combat?

Combat has been entirely reworked into a parry-driven, action-oriented system. The passive counter-attack loop of the original is gone. Enemies now adapt to predictable player patterns, making fights more demanding. A Perfect Parry can chain takedowns to up to four nearby enemies, depending on the sword Edward carries. Wall takedowns, ground takedowns, and the Hidden Blade takedown (triggered by breaking an enemy’s defence with multiple attacks) round out the system.

The Hidden Blade is no longer usable in open combat. It appears only in stealth and contextual kills, which sharpens the mechanical divide between fighting and assassinating. Combined with parries, dodges, smoke bombs, and the new kick, combat in Resynced feels more deliberate and varied than the original’s one-button flow.

Seamless Open-World Transitions

One of the technical highlights shown in the walkthrough is the complete absence of loading screens when moving between the sea and cities. Sailing into Havana’s port and walking directly into the streets creates a seamless open-world experience that the 2013 version could not achieve. Draw distance and texture resolution have been pushed well beyond what last-generation hardware allowed.

How Long Is the Remake?

The main story of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is estimated to take around 30 hours to complete, roughly six hours longer than the original campaign. A full completionist run is expected to take approximately 80 hours. Beyond that, free-roam exploration, parkour traversal, and open-world side activities could extend playtime well past 100 hours for thorough players.

New content includes three recruitable ship officers (Lucy Baldwin, “The Padre”, and Tobias “Deadman” Smith) with their own story questlines, new scenes featuring Edward’s wife Caroline, and 10 new sea shanties featuring French artist Woodkid. Ubisoft estimates roughly six hours of entirely new quest content has been added on top of the original campaign.

Editions, Pricing, and Pre-Order Bonuses

Three editions are available. The Standard Edition costs $59.99 / £50 and includes the base game. The Deluxe Edition at $69.99 is digital-only and adds the Master Assassin Character Pack and Master Assassin Naval Pack. The Collector’s Edition at $199.99 bundles everything from the Deluxe tier with a physical Edward figurine, a wearable metal brooch, an exclusive SteelBook, and a cloth map of the Caribbean.

Pre-ordering any edition unlocks Blackbeard’s Crimson Pack, which includes an exclusive costume, a matching pair of swords, and a set of pistols. The game is available on PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store. Ubisoft+ subscribers get day-one access.

Things Players Often Wonder About

Is Freedom Cry included?

No. The Freedom Cry expansion and the original game’s multiplayer mode have both been cut. Ubisoft chose to focus entirely on Edward Kenway’s main campaign and the new content built around it.

Does it run at 60 FPS on console?

Yes. Ubisoft has confirmed 60 FPS performance mode options on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is it an RPG like Valhalla or Odyssey?

No. Ubisoft has been explicit that Resynced is an action-adventure game, not an action RPG. There are no loot tiers, no levelling systems, and no gear-score mechanics. Combat and stealth have been modernised, but the structure stays classic.

What are the PC system requirements?

Minimum specs for 1080p at 30 FPS target a GTX 1660 and an Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600. The recommended tier for 1080p at 60 FPS calls for an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT. For 4K at 60 FPS on Ultra with extended ray tracing, you will need an RTX 4090 or RX 7900 XTX. All configurations require 16 GB RAM (dual-channel), 65 GB SSD storage, and Windows 11.

Can it be played offline?

Yes. Ubisoft has confirmed a one-time online connection is required for installation, but the entire game can be played offline after that.

Xbox Store’s new wishlist filter reveals the top 10 most anticipated upcoming games. GTA 6 dominates, Fable surprises in second, and notable absences like Gears of War: E-Day spark discussion.

Xbox Store’s new wishlist filter has surfaced the 10 most anticipated upcoming games among Xbox players. Added through a recent Xbox Insider update that places the wishlist feature directly on Game Cards, the filter now lets anyone browse which unreleased titles are generating the most demand across Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

The Full Top 10 Most Wishlisted Xbox Games

Based on the Xbox Store’s “most wishlisted” filter for upcoming titles, the current top 10 looks like this:

Grand Theft Auto VI

Fable

Metro 2039

Halo: Campaign Evolved

Euro Truck Simulator 2

Beast of Reincarnation

State of Decay 3

Stranger Than Heaven

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Minecraft Dungeons 2

The raw store data includes already-released and free-to-play titles like Fortnite and Roblox, but Pure Xbox manually filtered those out to create a clean ranking of unreleased games only. There are caveats: some titles appear with multiple store pages (different editions), which splits their wishlist counts. Halo: Campaign Evolved, for example, could potentially rank second or third if its Standard and Premium Edition pages were combined.

GTA 6 Dominates the Wishlist

Grand Theft Auto VI sits firmly at number one, which surprises no one. Rockstar’s open-world blockbuster launches November 19, 2026, simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with no timed exclusivity. There is still no confirmed PC release date, though Rockstar’s history with GTA 5 (which arrived on PC roughly 18 months after consoles) suggests a 2027 or 2028 window. For Xbox players, the key takeaway is simple: day-one access confirmed.

Fable’s Second-Place Finish Is a Win for Xbox

Developed by Playground Games, the Fable reboot lands on February 23, 2027, after being delayed from its original fall 2026 window so it could “have the dedicated moment it deserves,” according to Xbox head Matt Booty. The game will release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with day-one availability on Game Pass. Hayley Atwell has been confirmed in a starring role. Fable claiming the number two spot on the wishlist signals genuine player enthusiasm for Microsoft’s first-party RPG, which is a strong validation of the project’s direction.

Halo: Campaign Evolved Arrives in Weeks

The closest release on this list, Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Windows Store), and for the first time in franchise history, PlayStation 5. Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers get early access starting July 23. The game includes Operation: METEORITE, a three-mission exclusive adventure. Available day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, it ranks fourth here, though its split store listings likely undercount its actual wishlist total.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: The Biggest Surprise

Perhaps the most unexpected entry on the list, Euro Truck Simulator 2 sits at number five. SCS Software announced console versions for Xbox and PlayStation back at Gamescom 2025, and the game already passed one million combined wishlists across both platforms by May 2026. Development is reportedly 90-95% complete, but the developer has been cautious about committing to a firm date. Recent reports suggest early 2027 is realistic for the console launch, with patch 1.61 currently in beta as a critical pre-console update. American Truck Simulator narrowly missed the top 10.

Beast of Reincarnation: Game Freak Goes AAA

Game Freak’s first AAA title outside the Pokémon franchise, Beast of Reincarnation releases August 4, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Described as a “one-person, one-dog action RPG,” the game is set in post-apocalyptic Japan and blends real-time katana combat with command-based strategy. It will be available on Game Pass Ultimate from day one. Directed by Kota Furushima, who previously worked on Pokémon battle systems, the game’s sixth-place finish shows Xbox players are hungry for fresh IP beyond the usual franchises.

Where Are Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution?

The most talked-about absence from this list is Gears of War: E-Day, which launches October 6, 2026, as an Xbox console exclusive marking the franchise’s 20th anniversary. Clockwork Revolution, inXile Entertainment’s steampunk RPG, is slated for 2027. Neither title cracked the top 10. Pure Xbox notes that E-Day only became available for wishlisting earlier in June, which likely explains its lower ranking. Clockwork Revolution’s 2027 release window may also limit urgency. Both titles sit just outside the top 10, alongside Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Star Wars Zero Company.

The Rest of the List: What You Need to Know

Metro 2039 (#3): 4A Games’ next instalment was first announced in April 2026 and is scheduled for February 2027. Its strong third-place ranking confirms that the Metro franchise commands a dedicated Xbox following, and the Xbox Games Showcase reveal clearly boosted interest.

State of Decay 3 (#7): Undead Labs’ zombie survival sequel is coming in 2027 to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5. After six years of near-silence, the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 gameplay reveal re-energised the fanbase. The game map will be roughly four times larger than a single State of Decay 2 map, and it launches on Game Pass on day one.

Stranger Than Heaven (#8): From Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (the Like a Dragon/Yakuza team) and published by SEGA, this action title launches January 15, 2027. It spans five eras and five cities, comes to Game Pass on day one, and supports Xbox Play Anywhere.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (#9): Crystal Dynamics’ next Lara Croft adventure was delayed from 2026 to February 12, 2027, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also confirmed. It will launch across Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Switch 2.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 (#10): The action-adventure sequel is set for September 29, 2026, on Xbox with day-one Game Pass inclusion. It rounds out the top 10 as the Minecraft universe continues to expand beyond its sandbox roots.

What This Wishlist Data Actually Tells Us

This is not a pre-order chart or a sales forecast. Wishlist data reflects player curiosity and intent, not commitment. Still, several patterns are worth noting:

GTA 6 is platform-agnostic demand: It would top any platform’s wishlist right now.

Xbox first-party games hold strong: Fable, Halo, State of Decay 3, and Minecraft Dungeons 2 all feature, showing that Game Pass availability does not diminish wishlist activity.

Simulation games have console momentum: Euro Truck Simulator 2’s fifth-place finish points to an underserved audience on consoles.

New IP can compete: Beast of Reincarnation (Game Freak) and Stranger Than Heaven (RGG Studio) prove that fresh franchises generate real Xbox demand.

Store availability matters: Titles that were late to get Xbox Store pages (like Gears of War: E-Day) are at a structural disadvantage in wishlist rankings.

The Xbox Release Calendar Is Stacked

The second half of 2026 is one of the densest release periods Xbox has seen in years. Halo: Campaign Evolved (July 28), Beast of Reincarnation (August 4), Minecraft Dungeons 2 (September 29), Gears of War: E-Day (October 6), and GTA 6 (November 19) create a near-monthly cadence of major launches. Early 2027 then follows with Stranger Than Heaven, Fable, Metro 2039, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and State of Decay 3. For Game Pass subscribers, the value proposition during this window is considerable, with most Xbox first-party titles included from launch day.

Studio 369’s Noble Legacy receives its biggest early access update yet. The Survival Update introduces hunger, warmth, hygiene, and energy mechanics, replaces manual saves with a sleep system, adds permadeath, and gives existing owners a free war dog companion.

Noble Legacy, the third-person medieval colony sim from Studio 369, launched its Survival Update on June 26, 2026, fundamentally reshaping how the game is played. Described by the developer as “one of the largest changes since entering early access,” the update layers a full survival system on top of the existing town-building framework. Players now manage hunger, warmth, hygiene, energy, and afflictions for their own character, not just their villagers. Noble Legacy is currently 30% off during the Steam Summer Sale at $17.49 / £14.69, with the discount running until July 9.

Your First Night Just Got Dangerous

Before the Survival Update, Noble Legacy eased players into settlement management at a relaxed pace. That changes immediately. The new opening sequence drops you into the Greenwood wilderness with nothing, requiring you to survive your first days before any permanent settlement is possible. You begin with a Tier 0 encampment, constructing campfires, portable tents, supply carts, hunting tents, and cooking tents before laying the foundations of an actual village.

This early phase effectively serves as a survival tutorial. Cooking, warmth management, shelter construction, hunting, crafting, and storage systems unlock sequentially, teaching you the fundamentals of staying alive. The shift is significant: where earlier versions of Noble Legacy focused on resource allocation and population structure from the start, the Survival Update forces you to prove you can keep yourself fed, warm, rested, and clean before managing anyone else.

Four Survival Stats You Cannot Ignore

The core mechanical addition is a set of four survival parameters that your character must maintain: hunger, warmth, energy, and hygiene. Neglecting any of these has direct gameplay consequences. The system builds on the Life, Death and Industry update from earlier in 2026, which introduced sickness and death mechanics for villagers. The Survival Update extends that philosophy to the player character, meaning you face the same risks your people do.

Failing to eat enough, staying exposed to cold weather, overworking without rest, or skipping hygiene will degrade your condition and eventually lead to afflictions. The survival stats create a constant tension loop where long-range exploration, extended building sessions, and ambitious expansion plans all carry tangible risk.

Manual Saves Are Gone: The Sleep-Save System

One of the update’s most impactful changes is the removal of traditional manual saves. Progress is now recorded by going to bed. During the daytime, lying down saves your game without additional effects. Sleeping at night, however, restores health and energy, removes minor afflictions, and advances camp activity forward.

Studio 369 explains the reasoning: “Our goal is to create greater tension, encourage preparation, and make exploration, hunting, and survival decisions feel more meaningful.” The practical effect is that every excursion away from camp becomes a calculated decision. Staying out too long without a way to save means risking lost progress if things go wrong.

Permadeath for the Truly Ambitious

For players seeking maximum stakes, the expanded Custom Game options now include a permadeath toggle. When enabled, your character’s death permanently ends the game. Studio 369 has framed this as a preview of a broader system: “As Noble Legacy’s marriage, family, and heir systems come into play, death will eventually become part of a broader legacy system where players may continue their story through a surviving heir rather than losing their entire kingdom.”

For now, permadeath is strictly optional and designed for experienced players. The standard game mode does not impose permanent death.

A Bigger Greenwood: New Biomes and Resources

The Survival Update expands the game world with lakes, ponds, and freshwater locations scattered across the map. A new poplar forest biome has been added, and the entire resource distribution has been overhauled. According to Studio 369, the goal is “to create a more logical and immersive gathering experience, while encouraging players to explore different regions of the map.”

Wild flax joins the resource pool, and several new recipes are available: roasted mushrooms, wild meat skewers, basic craftable torches, bandages, and salves. Coal deposits are now more common in forested regions, incentivising strategic settlement placement and active exploration rather than staying in one area.

Build Your Home Earlier, Prepare for Marriage Later

Previously, players had to wait for the Lord’s Manor to unlock before getting dedicated personal space. The Survival Update lets you build your own house much earlier in the progression. Inside, you can place a steward’s workbench and desk, and assign yourself a personal bed, which doubles as your save point.

Studio 369 explicitly calls these features “the foundation for future marriage and legacy features,” confirming that the Survival Update is not just about difficulty. It is laying groundwork for the Hearth and Heart Update, the next major milestone, which will introduce marriage, households, children, heirs, and legacy progression mechanics.

Free Alaunt War Dog DLC and New Save Requirement

As a thank-you to early access supporters, all current Noble Legacy owners can claim the Alaunt War Dog Companion DLC for free during a limited promotional window. The DLC stays permanently in your library once claimed. The war dogs are not just cosmetic; earlier updates established that dogs actively participate in defending your settlement during bandit raids.

One critical detail: the Survival Update requires a fresh save file for Kingdom Mode. Older saves are incompatible with the new systems. Creative Mode worlds remain unaffected and can continue from existing saves. A new “Reset Config and Prefabs” tool has been added to the main menu to help players clear old configurations and start clean.

What Comes Next: Hearth and Heart

Studio 369 has confirmed that its next major update will be Hearth and Heart. “While this update focuses on enduring the wilderness, Hearth and Heart will focus on the people who inhabit your kingdom,” the developer teases. “Marriage, households, children, heirs, and legacy progression will play a much larger role in shaping your story.”

This aligns with the studio’s original early access roadmap, which pencilled in a relationship-focused update for 2026. The combination of survival mechanics from this update and the upcoming family systems could transform Noble Legacy into something more akin to a generational dynasty simulator layered on top of its colony-building base.

Where Noble Legacy Stands in Early Access

Noble Legacy entered early access on August 12, 2025 on Steam, developed by Studio 369 and published by Ultimus Rex LLC. It currently holds a Mixed rating from 656 total reviews (69% positive). The game supports English, German, French, and Russian, with additional localisations in development. Minimum system requirements include Windows 10, a Core i7-8700k processor, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1070 GPU, while recommended specs call for an RTX 3070 and 32 GB RAM.

The Survival Update arrives after a steady cadence of major updates throughout early access, including the December 2025 overhaul (crafting, inventory, combat), the Foundations of the Realm update (March 2026), and the Life, Death and Industry update (April-May 2026) that first introduced afflictions, temperature, and hygiene for villagers. Each update has progressively deepened the simulation, moving Noble Legacy further from a relaxed town-builder toward a demanding medieval survival experience.

Things Players Commonly Want to Know

Can I keep my old save with the Survival Update?

Not in Kingdom Mode. The update requires a new save file due to fundamental changes in progression and systems. Creative Mode saves are unaffected.

Is permadeath mandatory?

No. Permadeath is an optional toggle in the Custom Game settings. It is intended for players who want a harsher challenge and does not affect the default gameplay experience.

How do I claim the free war dog DLC?

If you already own Noble Legacy, visit the Steam store page for the Alaunt War Dog Companion DLC and claim it during the promotional period. Once claimed, it remains in your library permanently.

How does the new save system work?

Go to any bed to save your progress. Daytime rest simply records your save. Sleeping at night also restores health and energy, clears minor afflictions, and advances camp activity. Traditional manual saves are no longer available.

What are the system requirements?

Minimum: Windows 10, Core i7-8700k, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1070, 20 GB storage. Recommended: Windows 11, Core i7-9700K, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3070, 20 GB storage.

The Samurai Outriders were revealed at EVO 2026, completing MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ 20-character launch roster. Here’s everything about Blade, Loki, Deadpool, the new Asgard stage, and the upcoming open beta.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls now has its full 20-character launch roster confirmed. Arc System Works revealed the fifth and final team, the Samurai Outriders, during EVO 2026 on June 28, adding Blade, Loki, and Deadpool alongside the previously announced Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes). The 4v4 tag-team fighter launches August 6, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Who Are the Samurai Outriders?

Producer Takeshi Yamanaka addressed the elephant in the room during the reveal: putting Ghost Rider and Blade on the same squad immediately makes people think of the Midnight Sons, but this team is something different. The Samurai Outriders are described as a group of dark heroes who don’t start as a cohesive unit. How they come together will be explored in the game’s Episode Mode.

The team rounds out the roster alongside the Amazing Guardians, Fighting Avengers, Unbreakable X-Men, and Knights of Doom. Each team consists of four characters, and players can mix and match heroes and villains freely when building their in-game squad.

Blade: Aggressive Vampire Hunter with the Muramasa Sword

Eric Brooks, better known as Blade, arrives as a half-vampire warrior who has completed his training in Japan. His signature weapon is the Muramasa, a demon-slaying sword normally kept sealed. When Blade unleashes its power, the blade turns red and his sword-based skills get a significant boost.

Blade’s kit is aggressive and weapon-heavy. Beyond the Muramasa, he uses machine guns and glaives, giving him tools at multiple ranges. His unique ability, Heartstopper, throws a stake that pins an opponent in place before Blade closes the gap at high speed. Landing Heartstopper activates the Muramasa’s red state, making him even more dangerous in close quarters. He will be playable for the first time during the open beta.

Loki: Trickery, Illusions, and Mind Games

Thor’s adopted brother and the God of Mischief enters MARVEL Tōkon as a former villain trying to turn over a new leaf. Born as the son of Frost Giant King Laufey and raised by Odin, Loki brings a fighting style built entirely around deception.

He leans on illusions, feints, and counters alongside ice-based and magic projectiles. When his bluffs connect, opponents are left guessing where the real attack is coming from. The trade-off is steep: when an opponent reads Loki correctly, he gets punished hard. This high-risk, high-reward psychological warfare style makes him a standout pick for players who enjoy outsmarting their opponents.

Deadpool: Fourth-Wall-Breaking Chaos

Wade Wilson brings his signature brand of reckless, self-destructive combat to the roster. The Canadian mercenary, whose Healing Factor keeps him alive despite his own best efforts to get killed, fights with guns, grenades, swords, and a fighting-game strategy guide he apparently picked up from beyond the fourth wall.

In gameplay terms, Deadpool is a high-risk character who takes damage himself to fuel his offense. His moveset includes nods to classic fighting games, with a confirmed Mortal Kombat “Toasty” reference spotted in the reveal trailer. Players who enjoy chaotic, aggressive playstyles with a comedic twist will find a lot to love here.

New Stage: Asgard, Realm of the Gods

Alongside the Samurai Outriders, a new stage was revealed: Asgard. This multi-area battleground sits at the top of the Nine Realms and features five distinct zones: the Observatory, Bifrost Bridge, Throne Room, Treasure Vault, and Yggdrasil (the World Tree). The stage takes full advantage of MARVEL Tōkon’s stage-transition system, where fights move across sections as the match escalates.

Global Open Beta: July 24-26 on PS5 and PC

Arc System Works confirmed a global Open Beta running from July 24 to 26, 2026, on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Blade will be playable in this beta for the first time. Previous closed betas ran in September 2025 (six characters, PS5 only) and December 2025 (eight characters, PS5 only, 72-hour window). The open beta expands access to PC and more details will be shared soon.

A PlayStation account is required for the PS5 beta. The game launches just 10 days after the beta ends, on August 6, giving players a final chance to try it before committing.

Full Launch Roster: 5 Teams, 20 Characters

With the Samurai Outriders now confirmed, here is the complete launch roster:

Team

Characters

Amazing Guardians

Ms. Marvel, Peni Parker, Spider-Man, Star-Lord

Fighting Avengers

Black Panther (Shuri), Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man

Unbreakable X-Men

Danger, Magik, Storm, Wolverine

Knights of Doom

Carnage, Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, Magneto

Samurai Outriders

Blade, Deadpool, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Loki

Post-launch support includes a Year One Pass with at least four additional characters and one new stage as DLC. The Ultimate Edition bundles pre-order bonuses, five character costumes, animated chromatic colours unlocked for all 20 launch characters, and the Year One Pass.

What Makes MARVEL Tōkon Different from Other Marvel Fighters?

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is developed by Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear Strive and Dragon Ball FighterZ, in collaboration with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games. The game uses a 4v4 tag-team system where players can build teams by mixing heroes and villains freely, but a hybrid mechanic also lets you fight an entire match with a single character if you prefer.

A standout system called “Tōkon Assemble” activates once per match, only in a round where losing means elimination. It triggers a combined four-character assault that deals massive damage, acting as a dramatic comeback tool. The game also features rollback netcode, a spectator mode, and interactive multi-zone stages.

Things Players Usually Want to Know

Which platforms will MARVEL Tōkon be on? PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). No Xbox or Nintendo release has been announced.

Is the open beta free? Yes, the July 24-26 open beta is free on both PS5 and PC. A PlayStation account is needed for the PS5 version.

How many characters at launch? 20 characters across five teams, with at least four more coming as DLC in the first year.

Will there be offline content? The second closed beta included CPU battles. The full game features an Episode Mode that tells the teams’ stories, plus a tutorial mode.

Who developed the game? Arc System Works handles development, with PlayStation Studios (XDev team) and Marvel Games as partners. Sony Interactive Entertainment is the publisher.
