Updated 26 October 2026: the fix list now follows the official Steam patch notes, and the page adds what came after 1.04.02: the 2.00.00 Enhanced update, patch 2.03.02 and the 29 October release of Charting the Unknown. The April known issues list is replaced by the one dated 21 September.
Crimson Desert patch 1.04.02 is an all-platforms hotfix that Pearl Abyss released on 24 April 2026. It fixes a difficulty mismatch when a new game starts while another save exists, horse gear that could not be dyed, and unstable screen brightness on PS5 Pro when PSSR Sharpness is on. It followed 1.04.00 and 1.04.01, which came out on 23 April. The current version on 26 October 2026 is 2.03.02, released on 23 September.
What patch 1.04.02 fixed
These are the changes in the official 1.04.02 patch notes on Steam:
| Area | Change |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Starting a new game while a separate save exists no longer applies a difficulty other than the one selected. |
| Customisation | Horse gear can be dyed again. |
| PS5 Pro | Screen brightness stays stable when PSSR Sharpness is enabled. |
| Settings | Changes to Minimum Font Size apply immediately. Keyboard and mouse input works while adjusting Others > Video > HDR. |
| Interface | Fishing dock vendor and tanner shop screens display correctly. When the Extra Rewards List and Content Guide overlap, the front screen is used first. Pet renaming no longer changes the name of a non-pet animal in trust notifications. |
| Cutscenes | The fade-out in some shop cutscenes is faster. |
| Text | Various localisation errors are fixed in all languages. |
The notes also list four changes that were applied in 1.04.00: slightly higher character movement speed, a Greymane Contribution Shop with Carl at the Greymane Camp, furniture that stays in the house when the camp is expanded, and furniture that moves along when the camp relocates to Pailune.

Known issues today
Pearl Abyss keeps one known issues notice, last updated on 21 September 2026. Three problems that were open in April are still on it: Greymane faction quests cannot progress while playing Damiane or Oongka, quest NPCs cannot ride Legendary Animal mounts, and FSR4 upscaling makes rain disappear or blurs the screen. The Intel Arc XeSS crash, the GTX 1060 white screen and the PS5 Pro brightness bug are no longer listed.
Charting the Unknown on 29 October
The first expansion, Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown, releases on 29 October 2026 at 22:00 UTC, which is 15:00 PT and 18:00 ET. Pearl Abyss moved the date by two weeks on 30 September to polish the content. The Steam page lists the expansion at $ 24.99 and the base game at $ 69.99 on 26 October 2026. The features overview names three new storylines, underwater exploration, ships, romance, a rebuilt housing system, three castles to claim and the Garden of Trials boss challenge.
