Krafton’s life simulation inZOI received its biggest 2026 update on April 29, adding official Turkish and Dutch language support alongside new careers, freelance systems, and an Unreal Engine 5.6 upgrade.
Krafton’s life simulation game inZOI received its v0.8.0 update on April 29, 2026, adding official Turkish and Dutch language support alongside more than ten new careers, a freelance overhaul, and a full engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.6. The update is one of the largest since the game entered Early Access on March 28, 2025, when it sold over 1 million copies in its first week and peaked at 87,377 concurrent players on Steam.
New Language Support: Turkish and Dutch Join 28-Language Roster
With this update, inZOI now supports 28 languages for interface text and subtitles. Turkish (Turkey) and Dutch (Netherlands) are the latest additions. The game originally launched with 13 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Russian, Polish, and Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal). Since then, languages like Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Norwegian, Romanian, Swedish, and Spanish (Latin America) have been added through successive updates.
Krafton openly acknowledged that the Turkish and Dutch translations were created using an AI translation model. The studio explained that providing translations for new languages through traditional methods was logistically unfeasible, and AI assistance made the expansion possible. While the translations are functional, the developers warned that some errors may exist in the initial outputs.
Built-In Translation Error Reporting
To address potential AI translation inaccuracies, Krafton introduced an in-game reporting tool. Players can press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9 to activate a special cursor, then click on any incorrectly translated text. The tool shows the current text, allows users to write a suggested replacement, and asks for an explanation of why the original is wrong. This community-driven approach means translation quality should improve steadily over time as players flag issues.
The in-game settings menu also displays a translation completion percentage for each language, offering transparency about how polished each localization currently is. The original 13 languages have the most complete translations, while newer additions may have occasional untranslated strings or awkward phrasing.
Why Turkish Language Support Matters
The addition of Turkish was driven by sustained community advocacy. A Turkish gaming community called “Türkçe Oyun Seferi” (Turkish Game Campaign) maintained long-running communication with the inZOI development team, organizing feedback campaigns across multiple platforms. Approximately 2,000 comments were submitted to relevant forum threads, providing Krafton with concrete evidence of Turkish market demand. The developer team initially wanted to see higher player numbers from Turkey before investing in localization, but community representatives argued that reaching those numbers without native language support was a market-dynamics contradiction. The two sides reached an agreement, and Turkish was added to the official language list.
Before the official support, Turkish players relied on community-made patches. Sites like Bitlikutu.com offered comprehensive unofficial translations covering over 111,000 lines and 940,000 words. These patches included manual corrections for Turkish grammar patterns and careful preservation of in-game code formatting. With official support now available, players can switch to Turkish directly from in-game settings without installing external files.
v0.8.0 Career and Freelance Overhaul
The language additions are only part of a substantially larger update. The career system received its biggest expansion since Early Access launch, with new careers added to all three cities.
Dowon and Bliss Bay gained Researcher, IT Developer, Architect, Music Producer, and Journalist careers. Cahaya received a Travel Agent career. Each new career requires applying through an interview process where the player must impress the interviewer to be hired. School, business, and career categories have been separated so they can be assigned to the same Zoi simultaneously, as long as schedules do not overlap.
The freelance system was completely overhauled. Four new freelance job types were introduced: Delivery (picking up and delivering goods), Creative (producing writing, music, software, or media for clients), Commission (creating original work in a licensed field), and Publishing (creating and distributing content independently). Freelancers must first obtain a license from the computer. Higher-grade licenses unlock harder, better-paying jobs. A dedicated freelance phone app tracks license status, available jobs, and task progress.
Daily salary payments replaced the previous system. Zois can now register for paid leave, sick leave, and remote work. Companies occasionally grant company-wide holidays but may also assign overtime. Team projects allow collaboration with coworkers over multi-day periods, with contribution levels determining grades and rewards. Retirement is now possible after reaching the required tenure at a workplace, complete with a retirement party social event.
Hair Salons, Businesses, and Crime
A new business type, the Hair Salon, lets players open and manage their own salon. As the owner, you have full control over each customer’s final look. As a customer, you can only request a style, and the result depends on the stylist’s skill level. A dedicated hair-cutting interface operates outside of the standard Create-a-Zoi screen.
Crime gameplay also received new mechanics. After reaching level 5 in the crime skill, players can obtain criminal masks from the suspicious job agency. Committing crimes while wearing these masks causes nearby witnesses to flee rather than call the police, making criminal activities more viable. Certain crime interactions are now visible before reaching the required skill level, though the skill threshold for using them remains unchanged.
Situational Looks and Create-a-Zoi Improvements
The “situational looks” system received a major upgrade. Previously limited to outfit changes, it now includes hairstyles, makeup, and skin settings for each situation. Players can set up to five different looks and one signature look per situation (work, date, sleep, etc.), and Zois will automatically switch their entire appearance depending on the context. The menu was moved to the left side of the screen for better accessibility.
New items include 2 hairstyles, 10 tops, 7 bottoms, 4 outerwear pieces, 9 shoes, and 1 wristwatch with multiple variants. A European countryside studio background was added for the Create-a-Zoi photo studio. Family trees can now be captured and saved as PNG image files with customizable background colors.
Unreal Engine 5.6 and Performance Optimization
The game’s engine was updated to Unreal Engine 5.6, bringing technical improvements across the board. A new optimization settings category was added to the game options, featuring three key tools:
- Simulation Preset: Adjustable simulation settings that can improve performance by reducing background processing load.
- Performance Safeguard: When enabled, this automatically adjusts optimization settings when performance overload is detected.
- Graphics Preset: Mirrored from the graphics category for easier navigation.
Keyboard customization was moved into the main options page, and mouse sensitivity controls were refined for smoother panning and rotation. The developers noted that because the update includes new features, players may need to reset their graphics options once after updating.
Build Mode, Social Events, and Quality of Life
Build mode received European countryside residential presets for Dowon and Bliss Bay properties. The update added 149 new interaction objects, 7 windows, 5 doors, 2 module roofs, 8 window decorations, and 10 tile textures. Refrigerators with water dispensers can now be used to drink water, up to three cooking appliances fit on a single countertop, and side tables can be decorated with different objects.
Social events now support multiple assignments on the same day. Gender reveal parties were added, triggering both positive and negative reactions from attendees. The conversation system shows real-time emotional indicators for all participants. New intimate and romantic animations were added for Zois in relationships. Zois can also sit next to trees, remove wall stickers, and check laundry baskets (which may smell bad).
The season-change cheat command (changeSeason [Season]) returned after being temporarily removed. Ghost play can be toggled on or off in game options. Weather impact on Zois is now adjustable, and the number of days is displayed alongside each aging speed setting.
Where inZOI Stands in 2026
inZOI currently holds a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam with approximately 27,550 total reviews. The game is priced at $39.99 USD during Early Access, with all updates and DLC included for free until the 1.0 launch. The Island Getaway DLC (Cahaya) released in August 2025 at no additional cost. The game is available on PC (Steam) and macOS, with a PlayStation 5 version expected in the first half of 2026 and a full 1.0 launch planned for early 2027.
The 2026 roadmap includes High School Life in May, Travel and Prison systems in July, Festivals and Vehicle interactions in September, and a Fame and Social Media system in December. Canvastown, a player-created world-sharing platform, and enhanced modding support are also in active development.
Things Players Should Know About the New Language Support
- Switching languages: Go to in-game settings and select your preferred language. Turkish and Dutch are now listed alongside the existing 26 options.
- Translation quality: AI-assisted translations are functional but may contain errors. Expect improvements over time as the community submits corrections.
- Voice acting: inZOI uses a constructed language (similar to Simlish) for character speech. Voice acting is language-neutral by design, so no dubbed audio exists for any language.
- Reporting errors: Use Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9 to activate the translation error reporting tool, click any problematic text, and submit your correction with an explanation.
- Website support: Turkish and Dutch are currently only supported in-game. Official website localization for these languages will follow in a later update.
A Milestone for Community-Driven Localization
The v0.8.0 update represents a significant shift in how inZOI handles localization. By combining AI translation with a built-in community feedback loop, Krafton created a scalable system that could bring the game to more languages faster than traditional methods allow. The Turkish community’s organized campaign proved that player advocacy can directly influence development priorities, and the transparent completion-percentage display in settings ensures players know exactly what to expect from each language’s translation quality.
With 28 supported languages, new careers, a complete freelance system, and an engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.6, the April 29 update is the most content-dense patch inZOI has received since entering Early Access. For players who have been waiting for native language support or more gameplay depth, v0.8.0 delivers on both fronts.
